The project is funded by NSF (National Science Foundation)NSF (National Science Foundation). I worked as an independent UX researcher under the supervision of Dr Aqueasha Martin-HammondAqueasha Martin Hammond.
In this exploratory research, we interviewed 16 blind or visually impaired older adults (60 years or older) to understand the barriers they face engaging in social participation outside their homes.
The project includes opportunities for voice assistants to address challenges shared by the participants and need for the future work.
"Drilling down" into a problem - The clear understanding of a problem is important to figure out what can be measured. The more you drill down the problem, the more you will be able to interrogate the data and make it work for you.
